An Overview

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) of Bangladesh is the governmental ministration office where the Prime Minister of Bangladesh operates. It is located in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh.

History

The modern office of Prime Minister was established following the declaration of independence of East Pakistan with the Provisional Government of Bangladesh in 1971. Prior to that, the Prime Minister operated from different locations.

Functions

The Prime Minister's Office is responsible for several functions, including:

  • Assisting the Prime Minister in formulating and implementing government policies
  • Coordinating and supervising the activities of various ministries and departments
  • Managing the Prime Minister's schedule and appointments
  • Handling public relations and media inquiries

Leadership

The Prime Minister's Office is headed by the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, who is the head of government. The Prime Minister is appointed by the President of Bangladesh and is responsible for forming and leading the cabinet.
